“You all live in this tree?” “Can you imagine a better place!” 🌳 Anyone up for a magical adventure? Vertical has revealed their own new official trailer for The Magic Faraway Tree, an adaptation of the bestselling book series of the same name by Enid Blyton. After opening in the UK this March, it finally opens in the US in theaters this August. Mostly good reviews so far! Joe, Beth and Frannie find the Enchanted Wood on the doorstep of their new home, and when they discover the “Faraway Tree” it is the start of a terrific series of magical adventures. This fantasy comedy story is about a family discovering a new world. A modern family is forced to relocated to the British countryside where the children discover a magical tree with numerous eccentric residents. They’re transported to fantastical lands with excitement galore, rekindling their family bond through adventures. The impressive cast features Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy as the parents, along with Nonso Anozie, Nicola Coughlan, Jessica Gunning, Jennifer Saunders, and Rebecca Ferguson. This does look like some wholesome, uplifting fun for the whole family – a reminder that going out into the woods and getting into a bit of trouble (but only a bit) might do kids some good. Worth a watch.

The Magic Faraway Tree follows Polly (Claire Foy), Tim (Andrew Garfield) and three children: a modern family forced to relocate to the remote English countryside. As they adapt to their new lives, the children discover a magical tree and its extraordinary and eccentric residents including treasured characters Moonface (Nonso Anozie), Silky (Nicola Coughlan), Dame Washalot (Jessica Gunning) and Saucepan Man (Dustin Demri-Burns). At the top of the tree, they are transported to spectacular and fantastical lands and, through the joys and challenges of their adventures, the family learn to reconnect and value each other for the first time in years. The Magic Faraway Tree is directed by British filmmaker Ben Gregor, director of the films All Stars, Fatherhood, and TV work including eps of “Bloods”, “Black Ops”, “Brassic” most recently. The screenplay is written by Simon Farnaby, based on the beloved book series the same name written by Enid Blyton. Produced by Nicolas Brown, Pippa Harris, Jane Hooks, & Danny Perkins.
