Florence Pugh spoke to Entertainment Tonight about managing her packed schedule ahead of major franchise commitments. The actress has both Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part 3 arriving in theaters on December 18. She also has East of Eden on her upcoming slate.
Pugh revealed she has actually enjoyed a quieter period before her busy stretch begins. “Well, actually, in a wonderful way, I haven’t been busy for a bit,” Pugh said. She added that this press tour marks her first in a year.
The actress further shared how she has spent her downtime recharging ahead of promotional duties. “I’ve had some time to sleep. I’ve had some time to go on walks,” Pugh explained. Additionally, she acknowledged that her life will shift dramatically once production ramps up later this year.
Pugh also expressed strong confidence in both the Marvel and Dune teams guiding her characters forward. “At the end of the year my life will change completely. But, yeah, I’m in great hands with both those franchises,” she stated. Notably, her role as Yelena Belova has grown significantly since her MCU debut in 2021’s Black Widow.
Since then, the actress now holds three live-action MCU appearances, including Hawkeye and Thunderbolts*. She was among the first actors confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday’s cast in March 2025. Meanwhile, she first appeared as Princess Irulan in 2024’s Dune: Part Two and will reprise that role.
According toThe Direct, Pugh reportedly turned down a Nancy Meyers comedy due to Doomsday reshoot commitments. Insider Daniel Richtmanindicatedthe studio then offered the part to Erin Doherty instead. Pugh remains one of Hollywood’s most in-demand talents across both franchise and independent projects heading into a landmark year.
