Ben Stiller has offered a candid take on the Meet the Parents franchise, admitting that he doesn’t like every installment. The actor’s remarks come amid renewed interest in the Focker storyline ahead of the fourth film’s release later this year. His response draws attention to the long-running comedy series.

Ben Stiller has openly acknowledged that the Meet the Parents franchise has not been consistently successful, addressing the series’ mixed response while interacting with fans on social media. His comments come as the next part in the long-running comedy series moves closer to release.

The actor’s remarks followed a fan question that read, “Yall I did not watch the first 3 movies (and I don’t want to watch it either) but I want to watch the 4th one. Will I lose major plot?” Stiller responded, “No! But I stand by the first two,” referring to Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers. When asked what went wrong with Little Fockers, he added, “We always try. Fully,” acknowledging the effort behind the third part.

The remarks followed his appearance alongside Robert De Niro at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where they introduced the first trailer for Focker-In-Law. The film is written and directed by John Hamburg and is scheduled for theatrical release on November 25, 2026.

The film follows Henry, the son of Greg and Pam Focker, as his relationship choices begin to stir tension within the family. His plan to marry a woman with a strong personality unsettles the already complicated dynamics between the two families, leading to new confrontations and misunderstandings.

Alongside Stiller and De Niro, the cast includes Ariana Grandeas Olivia Jones, Owen Wilsonas Kevin Rawley, Teri Poloas Pam Byrnes Focker, and Blythe Danneras Dina Byrnes. Focker-In-Law serves as the fourth part in the franchise. It follows Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, and Little Fockers.
