It was a good second week for Bhooth Bangla as Rs. 40.40 crores came in. The first week score had read Rs. 79.75 crores so the hold is quite good, in fact. The drop is less than 50% and that augurs well with the Priyadarshan horror comedy since it’s a commercial film and usually drops for such affairs are around 60%-70% even if they are accepted by the audiences.

There is no major Bollywood release today and while Raja Shivaji has seen a big showcasing in Hindi as well, it would be known from tomorrow that how big a challenge does it turn out to be for Bhooth Bangla. In Maharashtra, of course, the Riteish Deshmukh starrer will now rule for next two weeks but in rest of the country, the Akshay Kumar led film would be the first choice. As for the multiplexes at major urban centres, Hollywood release The Devil Wears Prada 2 would pose stiff challenge.
Meanwhile, Bhooth Bangla has now crossed the Rs. 120 crores mark with its two-week total standing at Rs. 120.15 crores. On Thursday, the film had collected Rs. 3.75 crores due to partial holiday today and that will further help it today as well with either around Rs. 3.50-4 crores set to come. That will take it closer to the Rs. 130 crores milestone, which will be crossed by tomorrow. Further to that, more will come in which means Rs. 150-160 crores lifetime is there for the taking.
Hit.
