As fans await the second season of The Gentlemen, which will see British acting legend Ray Winstone reprise his role, his next project has been announced.

Winstone will lead the cast of a new Prime Video action-comedy series, Danger Money, which has been written and created by David Crow & Oliver Maltman (Semi-Detached) and will be directed by Carl Tibbetts (Black Mirror).
The series is also produced by Two Brothers Pictures, the company run by Harry and Jack Williams which has previously been behind (The Assassin and The Tourist), in association with All3Media International.
The series has been described as a “high-octane action-comedy”, following Winstone’s character, a former SAS operative called Alan ‘Razor’ Sharp.
Razor is haunted by a botched mission in the ‘90s that left his reputation in tatters and his best friend dead. Decades later, as he desperately tries to rebuild a relationship with his daughter, he is pulled back into the world that he’d left behind when an old friend resurfaces with a job too good to refuse.

The synopsis for Danger Money says: “Reluctantly drawn into one last job, Razor travels to Italy, only for events to spiral. Forced on the run with a motley crew made up of his impulsive ‘nephew’ Jamaal and secretive tag-along Roxy, he is thrust into a violent conspiracy involving hidden war spoils, corrupt institutions and powerful enemies determined to keep the past buried.
“As Razor fights to clear his name and protect those closest to him, he must confront the truth behind the mission that destroyed his life. Because the money isn’t the only thing waiting to be uncovered.”

Of starring in the six-part series, Winstone said in a statement: “They told me the character was a bit of a scrapper, surly and getting on a bit. I told them it doesn’t ring any bells, but I like a challenge. In all seriousness, it’s everything that I love because beneath the action, laughs and the hard man antics, there’s a lot of heart, soul and depth to this script as any great characters and shows have.”
Harry and Jack Williams added: “David and Oliver have conjured up something brilliant in Danger Money. We’re so excited to bring it to the screen with Prime Video and the legend that is Ray Winstone.”
Meanwhile, Crow and Maltman said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing Danger Money to Amazon audiences, with screen icon Ray Winstone as the unforgettable Razor Sharp – a new breed of hero, whose Special Forces training and thirst for justice is somewhat hampered by his soaring blood pressure and sciatic spasms.
“We couldn’t think of a better home for the show or a more perfect team than Two Brothers to bring it to life.”
