The pressure is mounting in Emmerdale for Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) to find the £100,000 blackmail money that Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) is demanding.

Earlier this year, the surgeon discovered that, while trying to act as surrogate for granddaughter Sarah (Katie Hill) and her husband Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant), Charity had actually fallen pregnant with Ross Barton’s (Michael Parr) child.
Initially, in exchange for her silence, she only asked for Charity to stop Jacob from pursuing his HR complaint against her.
However, the matter escalated when Todd continued to manipulate and bully Jacob, and he decided that speaking up was the right thing to do.
Todd then insisted that Charity give her £10k, but when she could only muster up a few grand, she decided to make her life even more hellish and upped the amount.

She felt like her only option would be to sell her share of The Woolpack pub, and initially proposed the venture to Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly). Her husband Caleb (William Ash) sensed that there was something strange afoot, though Charity declined to open up.
The clock was ticking, and it seemed like the only other person in the village with some disposable income would be lady of the manor Kim Tate (Claire King). She was interested, but warned that there could be some weeks before she could transfer the funds.
However, in today’s episode, Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) began planting seeds of doubt in her mind. He informed her that Charity’s son Ryan Stocks (James Moore) still owned the other 50%, and as a result, she wouldn’t have total control of the business.
Kim made her way over to the boozer to inform Charity of the bad news – she wouldn’t be buying. There was something suspicious about the urgency that she needed the money, and Kim didn’t want to become entwined in it.
Charity became desperate, literally pleading for the money. She even asked Kim for a loan, saying she was good to make repayments, but Kim stepped away. Little did they realise, in the next room, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) had overheard.

She reluctantly admitted that Todd knew her big secret, and was now blackmailing her.
Chas wasn’t going to allow her cousin to be blackmailed, and said they needed to form a plan to rid Todd from the village. Charity asserted that it was far too risky, and instead, they should focus their efforts on getting the money.
Her plan is to sneak into Home Farm and raid the safe…
Will it work?
