Charity Dingle (Emma Aktins) has revealed a huge secret in the wake of some upsetting news about Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) in Emmerdale.

2026 has been a horrific year for the Dingle patriarch. He’s undergone a radical prostatectomy operation following a cancer diagnosis, which occurred at a time of great strife for his family.
At the time, wife Moira (Natalie J Robb) was wrongly imprisoned for manslaughter and human trafficking, after two bodies were found on their homestead Butler’s Farm. She was framed by Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), who was being blackmailed by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
Their ulterior motive was to gain control of Butler’s, forcing Moira into an impossible situation where she had to sell the farm. Cain was then worried about the financial impact it would have on his family, and established a new agricultural venture at Wishing Well Cottage.
Just before his op, in a two-hander episode, Charity followed him home and pressed for answers surrounding his agony. She became alarmed by how quickly he was downing whisky and urged him to take care of himself.

Cain lashed out, hurling the bottle and accidentally smashing late father Zak’s tankard. When Charity refused to back down, he finally broke, admitting he felt like he’s he was failing to hold Moira’s life together while she was locked up.
Desperate for any escape from the crushing pressure, Cain suddenly made a move on his ex as they reminisced about their past. Fortunately she could see the pain behind it, and pulled away.
In today’s episode, his consultant explained that, although the surgery was successful, new tests had shown that it is highly likely the cancer has spread beyond the prostate.
Cain and Moira were utterly devastated that he hadn’t received the all clear, and that further treatment would be required within the coming months. There’s also the chance that radiotherapy could leave him permanently incontinent.
Moira headed to speak to Charity, who was drunk and downing sleeping pills to dumb her pain after being sexually assaulted by vile Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker).

The women agreed that there was a worry that Cain would spiral again, and Charity accidentally mentioned that Cain trying to preposition her.
When Cain returned home to Wishing Well, a furious Moira tore strips off him, saying that perhaps he was right to question his masculinity as his actions towards their marriage were abhorrent.
Will Cain and Moira be able to recover from this?
