“I’m a cat! That’s what cats do…” Netflix has revealed the first official trailer for the animated series titled Alley Cats, a funny comedy series created and written and directed by comedian Ricky Gervais. Entirely his invention! This looks like good fun. “I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about a trailer. I can’t wait for everyone to get to know these cats,” Gervais states. The brand new original adult animated comedy series is out for streaming this August. The series follows the trials and tribulations of a group of feral British cats who seek companionship while ruminating about the struggles of everyday life, and it features a bold 2D animation style produced at the UK-based award-winning Blink Industries. The series is lead by a voice cast including Ricky Gervais, Tom Basden, Andrew Brooke, David Earl, Kerry Godliman, Jo Hartley, Diane Morgan, and also featuring Natalie Cassidy and Tony Way. This looks a bit like the cat version of the animated naughty dog movie Fixed that Netflix released last year, with similar extra crass comedy.
