The BBC’s adventure game show Destination X has reportedly been renewed for a second season, a little after a year since it was first released.

The series, which is hosted by Rob Brydon, begins with players on a blacked-out bus as they travel around Europe, which is completely unknown to them and the viewers at home. When the bus stops, the players have no idea where they have gone or ended up, but they’re not completely left in the dark.
Destination X aired early last year, but following the conclusion of the series, there hadn’t been official word on whether or not it would make a return.
A source told The Sun: “The show developed quite a following, and those devotees will obviously be thrilled it is coming back — despite fears it may not.
“The only downside is that filming won’t start until late summer, which means that by the time it airs next year, almost two years will have passed between the first and second series.”
Radio Times has reached out to the BBC for comment.

During the game, the players are given clues to guide them along their route and partake in mental and physical challenges. But, of course, there were a few red herrings thrown in there too, to throw them off.
Brydon said ahead of the season 1 launch: “The players have to learn to live with each other and to complete challenges to win clues as to where on earth they are.”
At the end of each episode, the contestants are sent to the Map Room, in which they have to guess their location by placing an X on a map of Europe. The closer your guess is, you stay on for another day, but the player who guesses the furthest away from the actual location or Destination X is then eliminated.

Season 1 saw Judith Magambo win the series and take home the £100,000 cash prize.
In an interview with Yahoo UK after her win, she said: “I did it against all the odds. It was a shock. I still can’t believe it. Because in that final, I went into it with less advantage. Josh had two coins, Saskia, one, and me with a zero. So, I was just shocked.
“I thought they would have smashed it, and, to be honest, I went in there and I was like I’ve got to give it my all, so winning felt even better to know that I came from potentially being at such a disadvantage, to then winning; it was amazing.”
