The latest season of ITV’s gritty crime drama Grace wraps up with it’s fourth and final episode tonight – with John Simm’s Roy Grace and Richie Campbell’s Glenn Branson set to take on another new case in the Brighton area.
This one promises to be “one of his most complex cases yet” according to the official synopsis, and will see them called to the scene of a car accident in which a local hotelier was killed by a driver who fled the scene.
Of course, Simm and Branson aren’t the only stars back for this latest episode – Zoë Tapper is back as Roy’s fiancée Cleo, who is helping him to raise the son he never knew he had, while Laura Elphinstone is back as DC Bella May.
Also returning are Brad Morrison as DC Nick Nicholl, Juliette Motamed as DC Vee Wilde, Rebecca Scroggs as Ari Branson and more. We don’t yet know if we will see Sam Hoare back as Cassian Pewe, after he betrayed the team and was unveiled as a corrupt cop in season 5.
Line of Duty actor Craig Parkinson also won’t be back, after the Norman Potting actor parted ways with the show following the season 4 finale.

John Simm plays DS Roy Grace
Who is DS Roy Grace? Brighton-based detective superintendent Roy Grace is a methodical, “hard-working police officer who has given his life to the job”. Several years ago his wife Sandy went missing, a mystery he was never able to crack.
In season 4, he finally found Sandy, but she died soon after and revealed in a letter to Roy that he has a son, Bruno. In season 5, Roy was getting to know Bruno while he and his fiancée Cleo come to terms with the recent loss of a baby. At the end of that season, he found out more about Sandy’s disappearance and learned from his nemesis, Cassian Pewe, that she was killed, rather than taking her own life as he had previously believed. Pewe then passed on a threat from a gang against Bruno.
Where have I seen John Simm before? Simm is probably best known for playing the Master in Doctor Who and detective Sam Tyler in the acclaimed Life on Mars. Other projects have included Collateral, Strangers, Trauma, Cold Courage, The Village and I, Jack Wright.
Richie Campbell plays DS Glenn Branson
Who is DS Glenn Branson? Glenn is Roy Grace’s former protégée and partner. After getting shot at the end of Looking Good Dead, he had troubles in his personal life, including his marriage. In season 5, his wife Ari was under investigation at work.
Where have I seen Richie Campbell before? Campbell is known for playing Chris in Top Boy and Liam Sutcliffe in Liar. He also starred in BBC One anthology series Small Axe, playing Rothwell Kentish in the episode ‘Mangrove’.
Zoë Tapper plays Cleo Morey
Who is Cleo Morey? Cleo is senior anatomical pathology technician at Brighton’s mortuary, and is Grace’s fiancée. She has a brilliant sense of humour, brims with confidence and is devoted to her work. She and Roy lost their baby in between seasons 4 and 5, and she now acts as stepmother to Roy’s son Bruno.
Where have I seen Zoë Tapper before? Tapper is best known for her roles in series such as Mr Selfridge and Liar. She also appeared in The One, Rules of the Game and I, Jack Wright, opposite Simm.
Laura Elphinstone plays DS Bella Moy
Who is DS Bella Moy? DS Moy is sharp, clever and has great instincts. She looks after her ailing mother but keeps her personal life very private.
Where have I seen Laura Elphinstone before? You’ll know her as Brandyce in Line of Duty, among various other roles in the likes of Military Wives, Des, Chernobyl, Game of Thrones and Dalgliesh.
Brad Morrison plays DC Nick Nicholl
Who is Nick Nicholl? Nick is a long-time member of the police team.
Where have I seen Brad Morrison before? Morrison has previously had a role in an episode of Outlander.
Juliette Motamed as DC Vee Wilde
Who is Vee Wilde? Vee is the latest addition to the police team, having joined in season 5.
Where have I seen Juliette Motamed before? Motamed has previously appeared in Magic Mike’s Last Dance, Halo, The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin and We Are Lady Parts.

Craig Parkinson plays DS Norman Potting
Who is DS Norman Potting? DS Potting was an old-school cop who is occasionally a little too blunt and sometimes politically incorrect, but is steady, dependable and gets results. He left the team between seasons 4 and 5.
Where have I seen Craig Parkinson before? Parkinson is perhaps best known for his role as DI Matthew Cottan on Line of Duty, but also appeared in Doctor Who in 2021 as the villainous Grand Serpent. He has appeared in series such as Temple, Everything I Know About Love, The English Game, Mrs Sidhu Investigates, The Winter King, Renegade Nell and Alma’s Not Normal.
Sam Hoare as ACC Cassian Pewe
Who is ACC Cassian Pewe? Cassian Pewe was the ACC in Brighton, and he had a long-running feud with Grace. In season 5, it was revealed he had been having an affair with Roy’s wife Sandy and, due to her gambling debts, had himself become indebted to a gang, and become corrupt. His corruption was exposed at the end of the season and he was imprisoned.
Where have I seen Sam Hoare before? Hoare stepped into the role previously played by James D’Arcy. He is known for appearing in series such as Miss Scarlet and the Duke, The Capture, Showtrial, Death in Paradise, Outlander, The Castaways, Dalgliesh and Playing Nice.
