With the second season of Netflix’s live-action series adaptation ofAvatar: The Last Airbenderpremiering in just a few weeks, the streamer has released a new featurette introducing audiences to the live-action version of the beloved favourite Toph as played by Miyako.
As Aang continues his journey to master the elements in his battle against the Fire Nation he meets Toph, a young Earthbending prodigy whose blindness gives her a unique sense to Earthbending that overpowers most practiced adults. Aang, Katara and Sokka convince her to train Aang and join them in their fight against the Fire Nation as its soldiers begin their invasion of the Earth Kindgom.
Netflix already renewed Avatar: The Last Airbender for a third season, putting season two and three in back-to-back productions which wrapped last fall. This will narrow the gap between the seasons as season two will come out more than two years after the first season premiered.
In between the wait for the third season, fans have the animated filmAvatar Aang: The Last Airbenderto look forward to. The film was originally slated for a theatrical release, but Paramount decided to pull that back and make it a streaming exclusive on Paramount+ when it premieres on October 9th, 2026.
In Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2, Avatar Aang (Gordon Cormier), Katara (Kiawentiio), and Sokka (Ian Ousley) regroup and set off on a mission to convince the elusive Earth King to aid in their battle against the fearsome Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim), which takes them to the impenetrable city of Ba Sing Se. Along the way, Aang convinces Toph (Miyako), an audacious young master, to train him in earthbending, a skill he’ll need to eventually stop the Fire Nation. Unfortunately for Team Avatar, Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu) is still determined to capture Aang — and his formidable sister, Azula (Elizabeth Yu), has also joined the fray.
Avatar: The Last Airbender season two will premiere on Netflix on June 25th.
