A hit CBS television show has recently been renewed for two more seasons, bringing back a hit series for the foreseeable future.
What CBS TV show is back for two more seasons?
During its fall schedule announcement press conference, CBS announced it has renewed Beyond the Gates, the hit soap opera, for two more seasons, guaranteeing the show will at least air a Season 3 and Season 4 through the 2027-28 season. According to CBS, the series has been embraced by the daytime community, and continues to receive great buzz.
“Beyond The Gates immediately improved the time period, has enthusiastically been embraced by the daytime community and is getting good critical acclaim in the press,” CBS Entertainment boss Amy Reisenbach told reporters during a press briefing on Wednesday (via Deadline).
The show, which originally premiered in 2025, is the first new daytime soap opera to debut on a major American broadcast network since Passions in 1999. The show is also the first daytime soap opera to feature a predominantly African-American cast since 1989’s Generations. Beyond the Gates was created by Michele Val Jean, who serves as showrunner and co-writer, along with Tracey Thomson.
The soap opera follows the story of a wealthy Black family that lives in a posh, gated community in a Maryland suburb. Beyond the Gates is led by Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Daphnée Duplaix, Karla Mosley, Alex Alegria, Lauren Buglioli, Brandon Claybon, Timon Kyle Durrett, Sean Freeman, Ben Gavin, Marquita Goings, Jibre Hordges, Jen Jacob, Maurice Johnson, Trisha Mann-Grant, Mike Manning, RhonniRose Mantilla, Ambyr Michelle, Colby Muhammad and Arielle Prepetit.
While no immediate viewership numbers for the show are available, Deadline reports that the premiere episode of the series garnered 2.28 million viewers in L+3 (live + 3 day) numbers last year, with CBS noting that the show provided a boost of 13.6% over the show’s linear-only audience last year. To date, Beyond the Gates has aired 267 episodes.
