Hit Point is not only the first original scripted drama commissioned by UKTV’s U&Dave, but it’s a show that already comes armed with a notable pedigree. The police thriller comes from Howard Overman, the BAFTA-winning writer behind Misfits and The War of the Worlds, and is also directed by David Caffrey, whose most notable credits include Peaky Blinders and The Gentlemen.
The six-part series follows two thirty-something detectives, Leo and Bella, whose latest case pulls them deep into the West London underworld.
Billed as an “adrenaline-charged blend of high-stakes crime thriller and sizzling romantic drama”, it pairs a will-they/won’t-they relationship with dark humour, action and mounting betrayal. Nick Blood and Saffron Hocking lead the cast, with the series produced by Urban Myth Films and co-financed by Canal+. But when will it air? Read on to find out.

What will happen in Hit Point?
The story follows detectives Leo and Bella, thirty-something cops whose investigation drags them into “the dangerous West London underworld”. The synopsis continues: “On the hunt for answers, the lines between their personal and professional lives blur with every twist and betrayal.
“Packed with razor-sharp humour, and heart-stopping action, Hit Point is a gripping, fast-paced series where loyalty is tested, secrets explode, and love might just be the most dangerous game of all.”
Overman’s series has been described as an “adrenaline-charged blend of high-stakes crime thriller and sizzling romantic drama”, built around a central will-they/won’t-they relationship. So, it’s safe to say that this may not be our usual run-of-the-mill cop drama as with this growing romantic connection, it will surely bring the theme of loyalty to the fore.
