House of the Dragon season 3 marks a return to form for the Game of Thrones prequel, which took a slight tumble towards the end of its second run.

Although not quite as catastrophic as the original show’s infamous final entry, House of the Dragon season 2 stirred up notable backlash for its delay of an anticipated battle and major changes to the source material.
Indeed, George RR Martin himself joined the chorus of voices questioning the show’s creative decisions, so it was important that season 3 be strong enough to win back those doubters.
Martin’s verdict is still forthcoming, but House of the Dragon season 3 is getting strong reviews from critics (including our very own), who are saying that the plodding set-up of the previous run is paid off effectively here.
There’s reason to be excited, then, but how can you tune in to House of the Dragon from the UK? The belated launch of HBO Max has left some viewers confused over where to find the fantasy epic.

House of the Dragon is available to stream on Sky Atlantic, NOW and HBO Max.
Season 3 premieres on 22 June, with a new episode to be released every Monday at 2am (BST) until the finale in early August.
Sky TV subscribers can watch the show on Sky Atlantic without having to sign up for any extras. If you don’t have a Sky package, you can subscribe to NOW’s entertainment pass, which costs £9.99 per month (or £6.99 per month if you commit to six months).
The launch of HBO Max in the UK hasn’t affected House of the Dragon, as shows that previously aired on Sky/NOW will continue to do so in accordance with a deal struck between the two broadcasting powerhouses.
On the other hand, brand new HBO shows, such as Rooster, will be exclusive to HBO Max. But you can get a combined NOW and HBO Max subscription which gives you access to both services from one central hub.
