Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the war film 120 Bahadur was declared tax-free in the national capital as a mark of respect for the Charlie Company of the 13 Kumaon Regiment and Major Shaitan Singh Bhati. The film, which depicted the bravery and sacrifice of the 120 soldiers who fought in the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Sino-Indian War, received the exemption on Thursday.

In a post on X, Gupta said that 120 Bahadur honored the “extraordinary courage, leadership, and sacrifice” shown by the soldiers of the Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment. She noted that the film served as a reminder of the dedication and resilience displayed during one of the most challenging battles in India’s military history. “As a special mark of respect to the valiant soldiers, the Delhi Government has decided to grant tax-free status to the film in Delhi from 28th November,” she said in her statement.

The Chief Minister added that the film also highlighted the leadership of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, whose actions at Rezang La continued to be regarded as an enduring example of bravery and commitment to duty. She emphasized that the decision aimed to encourage audiences to learn more about the historic battle and the soldiers who played a pivotal role in it.

With the tax-free status now in place, the Delhi government expected more viewers—especially younger audiences—to engage with the story and reflect on the contributions of the 13 Kumaon Regiment’s Charlie Company.
