Fans have been wondering who the upcomingJames Bondwill be in the next era of the spy franchise, and while there might be one or two big favorites, several big names have been rumored. In an effort to try and narrow down the best, we’ve ranked five of the biggest stars rumored for the high-profile role.

The top 5 rumored new James Bond actors, ranked
5) Tom Holland
Before any other Bond rumors began, Tom Holland was probably one of the very first people to have his name mentioned for the role, and it’s no surprise. Holland would fit right at home in a huge franchise like Bond, as he’s no stranger to mega franchises, having starred as Spider-Man in the MCU for almost a decade now. He’s also starred in a number of other more serious projects, including Cherry, The Devil All the Time, and more, since he’s risen to a superstar level.
From a box office draw, Holland also would’ve made a smart choice, as Holland has been a box office mega star ever since his debut in the acting world. To date, his films as a lead have grossed over $9.9 billion worldwide, making him one of the highest-grossing actors in Hollywood. He was also extremely vocal about playing Bond, even pitching his own version of a movie to people a few years ago.
Despite this, though, Holland never seemed to really gain any traction as the favorite for the role. From a looks and stature point, Holland checks all the boxes, but Amazon might be looking for less of a known face for the new star. The star is also likely way too busy with the MCU to jump into another big franchise.
4) Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Before a few other stars on this list positioned themselves as the likely favorites, Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s name was probably the most popular thrown around. The English actor is known for his roles in movies like Kick-Ass, Godzilla, Nosferatu, and more, and for a while, he was seen as one of the most likely stars to play Bond.
Of course, he’d be a natural in the world of Bond thanks to his history in the world of action and comedy. One underrated part of Bond films is their comedic factors, and Taylor-Johnson is no stranger to that. He’s starred in a number of movies that highlight both genres, most notably films like Bullet Train, which sees him playing a hyper-stylized British assassin.
Unfortunately for Taylor-Johnson, it also seems like he won’t be playing the role. With rumors circulating that Amazon MGM is looking for a much younger name for Bond, it seems to all but rule out Taylor-Johnson. The star is 35, and assuming whatever actor signs onto the role will be playing Bond for multiple years, it means Taylor-Johnson would be playing the character into his 40s, a range Amazon may not want to showcase on screen yet again.
3) Louis Partridge
Patridge is a late addition to the pool of potential Bond favorites, and much like the final two names on the list, has recently been deemed a “favorite” to land the part. Earlier this year, Partridge’s name was listed as being in contention for the role, and the 22-year-old actor aligns with Amazon MGM Studios looking for a “much younger” James Bond than we’ve seen before.
Partridge plays Viscount Tewkesbury in the Enola Holmes movies and Edward Guinness in the House of Guinness show. He’ll soon be seen playing George Wickham in the Pride and Prejudice Netflix show, while his filmography also includes 2015’s Pan, 2017’s Paddington 2, 2022’s The Lost Girls, 2024’s Argylle, and 2025’s Jay Kelly.
While Partridge isn’t my top pick, there are a number of reasons why it would make sense. Patridge seems to check all the boxes Amazon is looking for, and going with a much younger Bond that hasn’t starred in a number of huge projects yet could allow him to slowly grow into the role over time. It would allow Partridge to make the role more his own than any other actor on the list.
2) Callum Turner
Besides the #1 choice here, no other actor has been mentioned to play Bond as much as Callum Turner. Turner is best known for his roles in the Fantastic Beasts movies, as well as his roles in movies like Masters of the Air, Eternity, and more. He’ll next star in the upcoming romantic comedy One Night Only, which comes out this year.
As far as Bond requirements go, he seems to fit all but one. Turner is an attractive man, having previously worked as a fashion model, and is an accomplished actor as well. The star has the charm and look of a James Bond, but there might be one big thing holding him back: his age. Depending on how serious Amazon is about wanting a young Bond, Turner (36) may fall in the same camp as Taylor-Johnson, and simply be too old for the part.
Despite that, though, he falls at #2 here simply because, to me, he’s the second-best choice for the role. His on-screen charm and look make for a great Bond, and he’s even already been around the world, having beenseen on holidaywith his partner, Dua Lipa, at a resort at Oracabessa Bay, the former estate of author Ian Fleming, lending credence to the rumors that he might be playing Bond.
1) Jacob Elordi
We end with someone who was recently noted to be at the forefront of all choices. Jacob Elordi, best known for his roles in Euphoria, Frankenstein, and Priscilla, remains next to Turner as the actor with the best odds to get the role. According to a recent report from The Guardian reporter Marina Hyde onThe Rest is Entertainmentpodcast,Elordi(Euphoria, Frankenstein) seems to be the star with the best odds to become Bond.
For me, Elordi stands alone as the best choice for the next era of Bond. Although he’s not British, Elordi has a commanding presence on screen, thanks in part to his massive 6’5″ frame. The star is also a legitimately fantastic actor, and one of Hollywood’s rising stars, having already earned Academy Award, three British Academy Film Awards, and two Golden Globe Award nominations for his performances throughout his young career.
Elordi’s age also puts him in a prime position to play Bond for as long as Amazon MGM might ask him to. At 28, Elordi isn’t as young as someone like Louis Partridge, but still looks young enough to get away with playing a much younger Bond, all while being able to grow into the legendary spy fans know on the screen.
Who are you hoping ends up getting the part of James Bond? Is there someone not named that you’d like to see?
