A beloved 2007 Scarlett Johansson movie is getting a television remake at Netflix.

The Nanny Diaries, in which Johansson starred as Annie “Nanny” Braddock, is being developed at Netflix as a television series. As is the case with the 2007 movie, the project will be based on the 2002 novel of the same name by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus.
Johansson will executive the television series from Greg Berlanti‘s Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. The project will be written and executive produced by Amy Chozick (The Girls on the Bus) and Jenny Bicks (Sex and the City). Both Chozick and Bicks will also serve as showrunners.
The 2007 feature directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini follows college graduate Annie who works as a nanny for Grayer (Nicholas Reese Art), son of wealthy yet dysfunctional Manhattan couple Mr. and Mrs. X (Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney). The film also starred Alicia Keys, Chris Evans, and more.
The Nanny Diaries feature adaptation received mixed reviews upon its release, but was praised for the performances of its cast. Rather than a beloved classic, the movie was remembered as an entertaining watch, especially lauded for Linney’s exceptional performance and Johansson and Evans’ on-screen chemistry.
Per Deadline, The Nanny Diaries joins Netflix’s roster of upcoming book-to-screen projects, including Black Hole, The Corrections, Lights Out and So Far Gone. The plot details for The Nanny Diaries, courtesy of the outlet, read as follows:
