Karan Johar offered a candid and amusing glimpse into his travel routine in a new Instagram post, describing in detail the anxieties that take over every time he boards a flight. With a mix of humour and honesty, the filmmaker broke down the habits he has developed over the years — many of which he believes others may identify with.

In the post, Johar wrote about reaching the airport far too early, checking his passport and boarding pass repeatedly, and waiting anxiously for the pilot’s updates on flight duration and weather conditions. He admitted that he relaxes only when assured of a “smooth ride,” and remains alert for any turbulence throughout the journey. He also shared how he constantly monitors the flight map, pops a pill on long-haul routes to sleep, and goes out of his way to be polite to the cabin crew. By the time the plane is ready to land, he is already prepared to rush out, overtaking other passengers “like it’s a limboo race,” as he described it.

His post, written with a self-deprecating tone, drew warm and relatable reactions from the film fraternity. Manisha Koirala commented, “This is so cute,” while Shilpa Shetty suggested a calmer approach, writing, “too cute you are, try breathing… yoga se hi hoga.” Soni Razdan also shared her experience, noting, “Resonate and how. But it’s getting better with time the more I travel. Turbulence is not my friend but after going to Antarctica I can do anything.”

Several other celebrities — including Parineeti Chopra, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Vaani Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Bipasha Basu, and Tiger Shroff — showed their support by liking the post.

On the professional front, Karan is currently receiving praise for Homebound, the film he backed that has also become India’s official entry to the Oscars. He is also preparing for the release of his next production, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, set to arrive in theatres on December 25, 2025, starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday.
