Love Island 2026 has been serving up quite the brutal dumping, as the Islanders were tasked with sending home two Islanders.
After the public were able to vote for their favourite girl and favourite boy, Ellie and Lorenzo were then told it was down to them to dump one boy and one girl who found themselves in the bottom three.
Unfortunately for Tina Rad and Tommy Murphy, their time in the villa came to a close.
What was their bombshell strategy? Are Jasmine and Lorenzo end game? And is there any bad blood with the Islanders who dumped them?
Radio Times caught up with Tommy and Tina upon their return to the UK as they gave us the lowdown on their time on Love Island and delivered their verdicts on some of the couples…

How does it feel to be leaving Love Island at this stage?
Tina: “I wasn’t ready because I didn’t find the love of my life. It’s okay because I can explore outside, but I just wish I had better connections. I wish I didn’t pick Aidan and explore with other people, but I’m excited to be home and see my family.”
Tommy: “To be honest I think I’d kind of ran my race a little bit in there. I felt it was in there a lifetime, every day in there feels like dog years. I kind of explored everything I wanted to do in there. I would have loved to be there now, especially for Casa Amor.
“I think that would have been a bit of a dangerous combination, putting me in Casa Amor, but when I left, I was quite happy with it. I think when I watched an episode last night, that came when it hits home a little bit, though.”
Did you apply or were you approached for Love Island? Why did you want to be on the show?
Tina: “I actually applied. I did a 15 second video, wasn’t long at all, and I was like, ‘Guys, I’m sorry, I’m struggling, I need some love, just me to get us in the villa, just get us out for an interview’, and they actually rang us and got us out for an interview.
“I didn’t expect the reply. I really wanted love. I actually thought I was gonna go in there and I was just gonna lock eyes, and I was gonna fall in love.”
How did it feel to hear that you were in the bottom three?
Tina: “I was expecting it to be fair. I wasn’t in there for long, so I knew nothing could have came that fast. And also, like, fair enough, I have quite the mouth on us when I get angry, so I knew there wasn’t going to be good talk.”
Do you think you deserved to be dumped?
Tina: “No, they [Ellie and Lorenzo] said that, though. As soon as they done it, they were like, ‘I’m so sorry, you should have had longer’. But they were closer to the other girls, so I knew it was happening anyways. But no, I didn’t find love. I didn’t deserve to be dumped.”
Who were your closest friends in the villa?
Tina: “I was really close to Lola. She’s just such a genuine person. Really likes Jasmine. I was quite close to Yasmin as well, wasn’t it? And Priya, me and Priya were like that. I think we all just bounced off each other, because we were running around the villa at one point, we all had really good energy, but probably closest was Lola and Priya.”
Tommy: “It’s weird isn’t it, because obviously everything gets clipped into a 45 minute episode, and there’s so much that goes on in the day, and you build true connections in there.”
What is one thing you’ll miss about villa life?
Tina: “The sun and everyone in there, they’re so lovely.”
Tommy: “And the Soleros.”
How difficult is it entering the villa as a bombshell?
Tina: “It so hard. So, when I got there it was really awkward, and the girls were not welcoming. It was just a bit frosty, we didn’t really speak much, and it’s hard.
“And then you’re basically going in and trying to sway loads of heads, and I wasn’t really like that, because when I see couples, I just think, ‘Oh cute.'”
Tommy: “I kind of voiced this point a few times, like, I know we are all in there for ourselves. We get close to people, but I always feel like that’s got to come secondary. There’s no point in holding back because you’re not doing yourself any favours.”
Would you be open to returning to Love Island, perhaps All Stars?
Tina: “Yes, if they promised the love of my life was going to be there. I would go back in, but I need someone blonde, blue eyes and a nice heart, I would be straight in there.”
Tommy: “Maybe they might not have me back, didn’t cause too much drama.”
Casa Amor has begun, give your verdict on which couples you think aren’t safe.
Tommy: “I don’t think I could give you a couple which I think are safe. I think the boys, we’re getting a bit giddy in there, weren’t we? Kind of shouting for Casa Amor to come. Obviously, I kind of missed out on it, but the boys in there, they were very excited for it to come.
“I think once you’ve been in there so long, it was just some people want to go through that test. Some people just want an option, and judging by the reaction when they walk in there last night, I think Lorenzo, Kan, especially, obviously Aidan’s a kind of a bit of a free agent, so he’s going to run with it.
“And Samraj as well. Samraj is probably the one that is going to kind of matter the most in a way, because he preaches a lot of goodness, he preaches a lot of like how he should carry himself. So I think the fact that he’s just got Mica back, which is kind of what he wanted so bad, if he now then drifts away from that, I think that’ll be the most interesting one, but honestly, I don’t think any of them are safe.”
What do you make of Sean and Lola’s relationship? Is it the real deal, or could they be returning to the main villa with someone else?
Tina: “It’s the real deal.”
Lorenzo has been a fan favourite since being on the show, what is it like living with him?
Tommy: “I lived with the lads at uni for a bit, and we were, like, crazy, like, having a good laugh all the time. But he was on the next level, like, from the moment I walked in, me and him vibed quite a bit.
“It really helped me settle in, living with him. The days are long in there, but, like, just spending time, just messing about, all the stupid stuff we’re doing. I think if you watch the best bits back, I think half of it’s kind of me and him just messing around like, doing stupid stuff, aren’t we?
“We’re just laughing, and that’s what makes the journey, like, so much easier as well because it’s obviously, it’s quite intense, everything’s full on. And when you’ve got real bonds in there with someone and you’re kind of so close, it just makes the whole process so much easier.
“You feel like you can be yourself, brings out the best in you. I loved every minute of being in there. A few of the other boys as well, Aidan, Kav, we were really close. But Lorenzo in particular he just comes out with mad stuff. He’s the most unserious bloke ever.
“But yeah, I loved it. It made my experience even better. So yeah, shout out Lorenzo.”
Who would be Lorenzo’s ideal type to walk in, as it seems he hasn’t quite found them yet?
Tommy: “I know everyone’s saying it, he kind of wants what he can’t have, but I actually don’t think that’s the case. I think with Jasmine, we had a bit of a conversation about her, and he basically said when he came in at the start, he was so nervous and, like, adapting to the situation he felt like he didn’t give it a shot.
“And I know what it feels like when you join, you’ve got that feeling that kind of, what if, and I think you always want to explore, and I think he owes it to himself to explore it, because you never know when your last day is going to be in there, and you don’t want to go through that whole process and think, ‘Why did I not shoot my shot there?’ and I think if he coupled up with Jasmine once he’d been kind of in there for a little bit, I think they would have had quite the love story.”
Tina: “They really suit each other but I feel like Jasmine needs a bit more.”
Tommy, you were in quite a few couples and shared quite a few kisses – what was your strategy going into the villa?
Tommy: “I didn’t really have a strategy going in, to be honest. The only thing I said to myself was that I’m not gonna hold back, I’m just going to take the opportunity and run with it, and the whole idea of the villa for me was testing.”
Tina, do you regret coupling up with Aidan? Was there another Islander you had your sights on?
Tina: “I do regret coupling up with Aidan. We did like each other at the start, first 10 minutes we were vibing, [but] as soon as I picked him, he just changed.
“We coupled up, eye contact stopped, everything stopped and we’d started arguing 24/7. We wouldn’t have a conversation, we would just argue.”
