Erling Haaland’s Norway continue their World Cup adventure against Ivory Coast in the round of 32 on Tuesday evening.

The goalscoring sensation was one of 10 players rested by head coach Ståle Solbakken for their final group game against France, with a place in the knockout stage already guaranteed, and their B-team was duly stuffed by the 2022 finalists.
Haaland, who has scored four goals in two appearances at this World Cup, will return to Norway’s XI to face an Ivory Coast side that finished second in Group E behind Germany.
The Elephants kept clean sheets in victories against Ecuador and Curacao – and head coach Emerse Faé, a former Reading midfielder, will need his defence on their A-game to stop Norway’s Striking Viking.
Whoever progresses will face Brazil, who left it late to beat Japan in the round of 16.
