Imtiaz Ali’s latest film Main Vaapas Aaunga has opened in cinemas, and the release has been accompanied by reactions from several actors, filmmakers, and industry personalities. From Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kashyap to Aditi Rao Hydari, many members of the film fraternity have shared their thoughts on the film through social media posts and public messages.

Actor Aditi Rao Hydari shared her reaction after watching the film and posted, “An Imtiaz ali film… but I must say more! Poetic poignant and real… Brain is still processing and saying main vaapas jaoongi, phir Se dekhoongi @imtiazaliofficial @arrahman Nasser sir @diljitdosanjh @sharvari @vedangraina @birlastudios.”

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar congratulated the team behind the project and wrote, “Congratulations beautiful people for this beautiful film @imtiazaliofficial @diljitdosanjh @vedangraina @sharvari @arrahman #naseeruddinshah”. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap also extended his wishes to the team and producer Art B, acknowledging the film’s release. Sharing his message online, he wrote, “Congratulations champion.”

Actor and filmmaker Mangesh Thorat also expressed his views on the film and highlighted its storytelling approach. Sharing a detailed note, he wrote, “If you have a complaint that Hindi cinema no longer produces good films, then Main Wapas Aaunga completely dismisses that notion. I watched this film by my friend Imtiaz Ali yesterday, and honestly, I still haven’t been able to get it out of my mind. The film is completely different from anything he has made before, and that distinctiveness can be felt in every frame, every dialogue, and every moment of silence.”

He further added, “This is not just a film; it is an experience that can only be fully lived on the big screen. The film also received attention from the Bengali film industry. Veteran actor Prosenjit Chatterjee shared his thoughts on the project and his admiration for the filmmaker, saying, “I was waiting for this film because I’m a huge, huge fan of Imtiaz,” before adding, “And I’m very, very sure the film will be loved by everybody.”

Set against the backdrop of love, longing, and relationships, Main Vaapas Aaunga stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment, along with Mohit Choudhary and Shibasish Sarkar of Window Seat Films. The music has been released under Tips Music.

With the film now running in cinemas, the makers will be hoping that the positive word-of-mouth from members of the film fraternity translates into audience interest at the box office.
