Mark Ruffalo’s latest Spider-Man: Brand New Day post
Sony and Marvel revealed new promotional material for Spider-Man: Brand New Day after Mark Ruffalo shared the movie’s latest poster on Instagram.
Ruffalo captioned the post, “#SpiderManBrandNewDay – in theatres July 31.” The poster featured a close-up look at Tom Holland’s updated Spider-Man suit alongside part of Peter Parker’s face. Fans quickly filled the comments with reactions including “Grey Hulk,” “Yo Unc Banner!,” “HULK SMASH,” and “Will we ever get another solo Hulk movie?”
Sony also released behind-the-scenes footage showing Holland and director Destin Daniel Cretton discussing the production’s practical effects work during filming. The footage arrived alongside new story details about Peter Parker’s next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The behind-the-scenes footage highlighted a major action sequence filmed in Edinburgh, Scotland, where production transformed several streets into New York City locations. Cretton described it as the film’s “opening action sequence,” while earlier set footage showed Holland and his stunt double riding atop a military tank through the city during filming.
Marvel released a synopsis stating, “The world has forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.” The studio confirmed the story takes place four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Peter Parker now lives entirely alone after erasing himself from public memory and continues protecting New York City as Spider-Man. The synopsis also confirmed Parker investigates dangerous crimes while his powers undergo a “surprising physical evolution” that threatens his existence.
The film stars Tom Holland alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. Bernthal returns as Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, while Ruffalo reprises Bruce Banner.
Sony scheduled Spider-Man: Brand New Day for theatrical release on July 31, 2026.
