Actor Mihir Ahuja shared a video on social media on May 26, 2026, offering a first look at himself as a young Indian Air Force pilot in Netflix’s upcoming series Operation Safed Sagar. The date was chosen to coincide with the anniversary of the real Operation Safed Sagar, the Indian Air Force’s aerial campaign launched on May 26, 1999, in support of Operation Vijay during the Kargil conflict.

Speaking about the role, Ahuja said, “Operation Safed Sagar is not just a story, it’s a tribute to the bravery, sacrifice and spirit of our Air Force heroes. Playing a young Air Force pilot has been one of the most special and humbling experiences for me. Sharing this glimpse on 26th May felt deeply meaningful and my way of paying respect to the real heroes who lived these moments.”

Based on true events, Operation Safed Sagar draws from the accounts of former Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa and Kargil war hero late Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja, Vir Chakra. The series features Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Verma, Mihir Ahuja, Dia Mirza, Prajakta Koli, Adil Hussain, Taaruk Raina, Arnav Bhasin, and Amrita Bagchi.

Ahuja was previously seen in Gehraiyaan (2022) and Three of Us (2023). Directed by Oni Sen and created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar, Mehboob PS Brar, and Kushal Srivastava, the series is produced by Sanjay Routray under Matchbox Shots and Abhijeet Singh Parmar under Feel Good Films. Operation Safed Sagar is set to release on Netflix in 2026.
