The much-awaited second season of Dhootha is officially underway. Actors Naga Chaitanya and Parvathy Thiruvothu are set to return for the next chapter of the acclaimed horror mystery thriller, with the team recently coming together for the show’s mahurat ceremony. The event marked the formal commencement of production and was attended by members of the cast and crew, along with several industry personalities.

Sharing the update with fans, Naga Chaitanya took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the beginning of the new season. The actor also revealed that the project marks a significant milestone in his career as he steps into the role of a producer. The mahurat ceremony was held in Hyderabad and was attended by veteran actor Nagarjuna, who was present to support the team as filming preparations got underway. The event also served as a reunion for the cast members who are returning to continue the story that captivated audiences in its first season.

Created and directed by Vikram Kumar, Dhootha premiered on Amazon Prime Video on December 1, 2023. The series received attention for its blend of supernatural elements, suspense, and investigative drama, with Naga Chaitanya leading the narrative in one of his most notable OTT outings. Following its reception, the makers announced in June 2024 that the series had been renewed for a second season.

Apart from Naga Chaitanya and Parvathy Thiruvothu, the ensemble cast of Dhootha includes Prachi Desai, Gnaneswari Kandregula, Anish Kuruvilla, Tharun Bhascker, Rohini, Tanikella Bharani, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Pasupathy in pivotal roles.
