On May 7, Netflix revealed the Survival of the Thickest season 3 release date, one day after guest star Wanda Sykes made a surprise appearance at Buteau’s Netflix Is A Joke show to share the teaser trailer with the audience. Well, Netflix has shared the teaser trailer with the world and revealed when Mavis Beaumont’s journey comes to its official end this summer.

Mark your calendars! Survival of the Thickest season 3 releases on Thursday, July 2, 2026 on Netflix. When Netflix renewed the underrated comedy series after season 2’s release, the streaming service confirmed that season 3 would be the final season. While Netflix hasn’t confirmed the episode count for the final season, it’s expected to follow suit with the past seasons and contain eight episodes.
In the third and final season, Survival of the Thickest will continue to explore the personal and professional adventures, triumphs, and missteps of Mavis and her friends. Following the events of season 2, Mavis doesn’t give up on leaving her mark on the fashion industry, and with her friends new and old by her side, she’s ready to take the world by storm.

Survival of the Thickest season 3 features a smaller main cast this time around with Michelle Buteau as Mavis, Tone Bell as Khalil, and Marouane Zotti as Luca. The returning series regulars will be joined by an exciting line up of guest stars, some of which have appeared in the series before and some who are dropping by for the first time in the final season.

Since the creative team knew going into production on season 3 that this would be the final season, Survival of the Thickest will be able to conclude on its own terms. We should expect a satisfying ending for the series that leaves Mavis in a glamorous and happy place that befits her career goals and romantic dreams. But it’s still a shame the series is ending after only three seasons.
As much as fans have been dreading the release date news because that means the end is near, the prospect of more laughs care of Michelle Buteau coming to our watch lists this summer is exciting. Now’s the time to catch up with seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix before the final episodes arrive!
