Netflix has confirmed an official release date for Heartstopper Forever, which will wrap up the celebrated LGBTQ+ teen drama after an impactful run on the streaming platform.

The series follows the romance between schoolboys Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), plus several other LGBTQ+ love stories between the various friends around them.
Today, fans are marking the four-year anniversary of the show’s launch, making it a fitting moment for Netflix to unveil the release date for the final chapter: Friday 17 July 2026.
The announcement came in the form of a social video, featuring photos of the cast, both in character and behind-the-scenes, over their years making the show together. Watch below:

The heartwarming compilation shows just how far the cast have come since Heartstopper first went into production, with Alice Oseman playing a key role in adapting her smash-hit graphic novels for the screen.
The clip ends with a never-before-seen still of the Heartstopper cast on the set of the feature-length finale, crowded around a café table with rows of bookshelves lining the wall behind them.
Could this be a glimpse of their last group hangout before moving on to the next chapters of their lives? We’ll find out this summer, when Heartstopper Forever premieres on Netflix.

The synopsis for the film, courtesy of Netflix, reads: “Nick and Charlie are inseparable, but with Nick preparing to leave for university and Charlie finding new independence at school, the reality of a long-distance relationship begins to weigh on them.
“Doubts take hold, and their relationship faces its biggest challenge yet. Meanwhile, their friends are also navigating the ups and downs of love and friendship, confronting the bittersweet challenges of growing up and moving on. Can first loves really last forever?”

The film will be largely based on the sixth and final volume in Oseman’s graphic novel series, which is due for release just two weeks earlier – giving diehard fans just enough time to get prepped on what to expect.
The young adult drama has launched several careers, including those of leads Connor and Locke, who have gone on to bag roles in Alex Garland’s Elden Ring and Marvel’s Agatha All Along, respectively.
