“It’ll be nice working with proper villains again.” Fathom Entertainment has unveiled a brand new trailer for the 2001 classic Ocean’s Eleven, Soderbergh’s heist comedy masterpiece. It’s a remake of the original 1960 heist movie and hit theaters in 2001 – the movie is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. It’s one of my all-time favorites and was a huge hit at the box office opening in late 2001 and playing into early 2002. Fathom is giving it a special re-release for two nights only this summer, on June 21st & June 24th, and tickets are already on sale for screenings at your local movie theater. A thief and his team of associates plan a sophisticated heist to rob three Las Vegas casinos at the same time. One of the best Las Vegas movies ever made. This special 25th anniversary release includes exclusive insight from Leonard Maltin. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, Ocean’s Eleven stars George Clooney, Matt Damon, Andy García, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Elliott Gould, Bernie Mac, Carl Reiner, Qin Shaobo, and Eddie Jemison. I could watch it 100 times over and never get bored of it. One of the few movies I’d actually call perfect from start to finish. Go enjoy it on the big screen again this June – it’s still a total blast.

Dapper Danny Ocean (George Clooney) is a man of action. Less than 24 hours into his parole, the wry, charismatic thief is already rolling out his next plan. Following 3 rules — don’t hurt anybody, don’t steal from anyone who doesn’t deserve it, play the game like you’ve got nothing to lose — Danny orchestrates the most sophisticated, elaborate casino heist in history. In one night, Danny’s handpicked 11-man crew of specialists — including an ace card sharp (Brad Pitt), a master pickpocket (Matt Damon) and a demolition genius (Don Cheadle) — will attempt to steal over $150 million from three Las Vegas casinos owned by Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), the elegant, ruthless entrepreneur who just happens to be dating Danny’s ex-wife Tess (Julia Roberts). Coincidence or motive? Only Danny knows. To score the cash, he’ll have to risk his life & his chance of reconciling with Tess. But if it all goes according to Danny’s intricate plan, he won’t have to choose between his own stake in the heist and his high-stakes reunion with Tess… or will he?
Ocean’s Eleven is directed by the acclaimed American filmmaker Steven Soderbergh, his 11th (seriously!) film at the time just after directing Traffic (2000) and before making Full Frontal (2002) & Solaris (2002) after. The screenplay is written by Ted Griffin. Based on the original Ocean’s 11 movie (from 1960) by Harry Brown, Charles Lederer, George Clayton Johnson, Jack Golden Russell. Produced by the legendary Jerry Weintraub. Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven movie originally opened in theaters in December 2001 earning an impressive $450.7 million worldwide at the box office during its run. Fathom will re-release Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven in theaters for two nights only – June 21st & 24th, 2026 this summer. Who wants to go?
