Coronation Street and Emmerdale have been pulled from ITV’s regular schedule tonight (Tuesday 7 July), while EastEnders viewers will also have to adapt to a change.

Both shows usually air 30-minute instalments on weeknights, with Emmerdale airing at 8pm and Corrie following at 8:30pm.
But neither soap will be airing in its usual slot tonight, with ITV1 showing coverage of the Switzerland v Colombia FIFA World Cup 2026 game instead. Coverage of the eighth round-of-16 match, which takes place at BC Place Vancouver in Canada, will begin at 8:15pm, with kick-off 45 minutes later.
However, fans looking for their soap fix needn’t worry, as Emmerdale will return on Wednesday at 8pm for a 30-minute episode. There will also be a 30-minute episode of Corrie following at 8:30pm.
Over in Emmerdale, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) makes a big gesture to secure a relationship with son Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches), though Ross Barton (Michael Parr) reckons he isn’t to be trusted.

That night, someone breaks into the caff and steals the cash box! But is it Kev?
Corrie viewers will see Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) bemoan partner Steve McDonald’s (Simon Gregson) help at the florist’s, growing uneasy at the fact he’s spending more time with ex-wife Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).
Heading to the Chariot Square to drown her sorrows, she bumps into a fella at the bar and begins to flirt.
Meanwhile, Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) announces that she’s taking landlord Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) to court.
There’s a big change for EastEnders fans too – as it won’t be broadcast on BBC One this evening.

It’s not football kicking the soap off its usual pitch, but rather further coverage of Wimbledon. It’s day nine of the Grand Slam tournament from the All England Club, where the singles quarter-finals are scheduled to begin.
If you’ve not already watched on BBC iPlayer, you can catch it at 7:30pm on BBC Two instead.
It’s a huge episode for Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) as she faces off with Bea Pollard (Ronni Ancona) amid her kidnap ordeal.
