This summer is shaping up to be a tough one for Newcastle United.
The Mags have stood by Eddie Howe despite finishing 12th in a hugely disappointing 2025/26 campaign but the English coach looks set to lose a host of key players before the start of the new season.
Anthony Gordon has joined Barcelona, Sandro Tonali has gone to Spurs, and rumours continue to swirl about talismanic midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
Reinforcements are needed and there should now be the cash to add some quality to Newcastle’s squad but the pressure is on the club to get it right.

Newcastle will only consider selling Arsenal target Bruno Guimaraes for more than £80m and have been left frustrated by the Gunners’ pursuit despite the midfielder wanting the move.
The Mags have seen a £46m offer rejected for Spurs midfielder Lucas Bergvall amid discussions between the clubs over how much a deal could be worth.
£50m-rated Man City goalkeeper James Trafford is a long-term target of the North East club but they have not followed up on previous interest this summer.
Everton are interested in winger Jacob Murphy, who is into the final 12 months of his contract at St James’ Park, while goalkeeper Nick Pope has been linked with newly-promoted Ipswich Town.
