Manchester United have made some early moves in the transfer market this summer.

There’s a newfound sense of stability at Old Trafford under Michael Carrick and that’s been reflected in some shrewd business, with midfielders Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans signing from Premier League rivals for reasonable fees and goalkeeper Karl Darlow joining on a free.

You suspect Man Utd’s summer spending is not done yet, however, and fans will want to see more reinforcements arrive before the 2026/27 campaign kicks off.

Man Utd look set to miss out on West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville, who is heading for Al Hilal in a £60m deal.

It looks unlikely that the Old Trafford outfit will return for Atalanta midfielder Ederson, who has signed a new deal at the Serie A club after his previous move to United fell through.

A third midfielder could still make the move to Manchester this summer, however.

Roma’s Manu Kone, Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, and Fulham’s Sander Berge are among those linked but a move for either Bournemouth’s Alex Scott or Brighton’s Carlos Baleba looks unlikely.

Goalkeeper Radek Vitek has said he’s open to a loan or permanent move away from Man Utd this summer after impressing with Bristol City last term.
