The controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh and Don 3 may have been resolved, but conversations about it continue within the film industry. Now, Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) President Poonam Dhillon has shared fresh details about her discussions with Ranveer Singh’s father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, during the dispute.

“Ranveer Singh’s father was unhappy with FWICE’s handling of Don 3 dispute,” says CINTAA President Poonam Dhillon
Speaking to Variety India, Poonam addressed the recent decision by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to revoke its non-cooperation directive against the actor. She said she was relieved by the outcome and felt the action against Ranveer was unwarranted. “As an actor and as the President of CINTAA, I’m happy that they’ve revoked the directive because he definitely didn’t deserve it,” she said.
The controversy began after Excel Entertainment reportedly complained that Ranveer Singh had backed out of Don 3 after committing to the project. The production house allegedly claimed that the move resulted in financial losses and disrupted long-term planning for the film. Following the complaint, FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor after mediation attempts failed.
The directive sparked widespread debate across the industry. Eventually, discussions between the concerned parties and intervention from industry bodies helped resolve the matter, leading to the directive being withdrawn.
During her conversation, Poonam revealed that she had personally remained in touch with Ranveer’s father throughout the controversy. “I spoke to Ranveer’s father at length and we have been corresponding on WhatsApp. He has thanked me for our support,” she said.
According to Poonam, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani clarified that despite the dispute, there was no hostility toward Farhan Akhtar or Excel Entertainment. She recalled, “According to him, there was no animosity from his side towards Farhan Akhtar or the Excel team.”
Poonam further revealed that the family was dissatisfied with how FWICE handled the matter. However, they had already initiated conversations with the concerned stakeholders and were working toward a solution independently. “They were not happy with the way FWICE had handled it. I asked him whether CINTAA could be of help. But he said, ‘We didn’t involve you because we didn’t want to trouble you and we’re already in the process of sorting it out,'” she shared.
The veteran actor explained that neither Ranveer nor his father felt it necessary to seek formal intervention from CINTAA because discussions were already underway behind the scenes.
With the issue now resolved and the directive withdrawn, Poonam said she was pleased that all parties had managed to find common ground.
