Off the back of shows like The Summer I Turned Pretty and Off Campus, Prime Video are clearly having success with adapting hit book series and now, Every Year After has joined that YA canon.
The series may sound deceptively similar to the aforementioned Summer I Turned Pretty, but Every Year After centres on the enduring heartache of first love.
When Percy (Sadie Soverall) returns back to the place she spent every summer under sobering conditions, she is also faced with plenty of familiar faces and one in particular – Sam (Matt Cornett).
With the series unfolding both over the course of one week and then also in flashbacks of a six-year period when everyone was young, Every Year After certainly lives up to its description as a “a romantic, nostalgic story of first loves and the people and choices that mark us forever”.
But who stars in the new series, which is based on the novel by Carley Fortune? Read on to find out.

Sadie Soverall as Percy
Who is Percy? An obituary writer who’s not very happy in her job or life who gets a call one day from Charlie with some bad news. Returning to Barry’s Bay, Percy is forced to confront past secrets and tensions, as well as her first love, Sam.
Where have I seen Sadie Soverall? The English actress is known for her roles in Fate: The Winx Saga, The Gathering and Saltburn. She has also starred in Finding Emily and Arcadian.
Matt Cornett as Sam
Who is Sam? Now a doctor with a girlfriend of his own, Sam is rocked by some devastating family news – and even more so when Percy arrives back in town.
Where have I seen Matt Cornett? Cornett is largely known for his role in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, but has also starred in Life in Pieces, Game Shakers and The Goldbergs.
Aurora Perrineau as Chantal
Who is Chantal? Chantal is Percy’s best friend and even though she’s in the midst of planning her wedding and a busy legal career, she travels to Barry’s Bay to support her friend.
Where have I seen Aurora Perrineau? Perrineau has starred in Westworld, When They See Us, Prodigal Son and more recently, in Kaos.
Abigail Cowen as Delilah
Who is Delilah? Delilah lives in Barry’s Bay but used to spend summers with Percy, Charlie and Sam. She’s now married but just like when she was younger, she still holds a torch for Charlie.
Where have I seen Abigail Cowen? Cowen has starred in Fate: The Winx Saga, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The Ritual.
Michael Bradway as Charlie
Who is Charlie? Charlie is Sam’s older brother and may seem like the cooler one but in the face of tragedy, has some home truths of his own to face.
Where have I seen Michael Bradway? Bradway is best known for his role in Chicago Fire but has also starred in Marked Men and Safe House.
Joseph Chiu as Jordie
Who is Jordie? Jordie is one of Sam’s old friends but has gone through his fair share of turmoil over the years and now runs the local motel.
Where have I seen Joseph Chiu? Chiu has starred in Motorheads, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy and The Miniature Wife.
