The recent cryptic Instagram story of Rohit Sharma featuring a Netflix contract had left fans speculating about what the star cricketer was planning next. The mystery has now been solved, with Rohit fronting a new campaign for Netflix alongside longtime teammate and friend Shikhar Dhawan.

Netflix has come on board as the official Entertainment Partner for Mumbai Indians during the ongoing Indian T20 League season. As part of the collaboration, the streaming giant has launched its first campaign film titled Chill Like A Champion, with Rohit Sharma leading the way.
The promotional film presents Rohit in a setting far removed from the cricket field. Instead of floodlights and packed stadiums, the star batter is seen enjoying a quiet evening on his couch with Netflix. Known for his calm presence at the crease, Rohit carries the same laid-back energy into the campaign.
In a playful twist, Shikhar Dhawan attempts to pull Rohit away from his comfortable binge-watching setup, leading to a light-hearted exchange between the two cricketers. The film highlights their natural camaraderie and off-field friendship, while portraying Rohit as someone firmly committed to protecting his downtime.
Speaking about shooting the campaign, Rohit Sharma said, “Shikhar and I go back a long way. Some of my favourite memories on a cricket pitch have been with him at the other end. So when we got to do this shoot for Netflix together, it just felt like a natural fit – it was less like a shoot and more like two old friends just being themselves. That’s honestly what made it so enjoyable. He was doing everything to drag me out of that room, and I was having none of it, which, if you know me at all, is pretty accurate.”
Shikhar Dhawan also shared his excitement about the collaboration and his love for entertainment beyond cricket. “The Indian T20 League is a gripping entertainer. But when the matches hit pause, I for one want something that keeps the fun going. Netflix is the natural go-to, because it has something for every mood of mine. This campaign has been a joy ride and I’ve had a lot of fun creating it with Netflix. Doing it with the hitman himself was the cherry on top”, he added.
The campaign reflects the idea that while Mumbai Indians entertain fans on the field, Netflix continues the entertainment once the game ends. It also taps into the growing crossover between sports personalities and digital entertainment brands.
Chill Like A Champion is the first film in a larger campaign that will roll out across digital platforms, celebrating how champions unwind when the match is over.
