Shahid Kapoor is set to return to the romantic-comedy space with Cocktail 2, and the actor has now shared new details about his character, Kunal. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India about the film, Shahid reflected on what drew him to the role and how different it is from his recent performances. “After very long I’m playing a character that’s not alpha, hard, or grey and edgy. I’m playing an extremely likeable, warm and endearing character.”

The statement has sparked excitement among fans who have long admired Shahid’s performances in romantic dramas and lighter entertainers. Directed by Homi Adajania and written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain, Cocktail 2 is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan, and Ankur Garg under the banners of Maddock Films and Luv Films. While the film is described as a spiritual successor to the 2012 hit Cocktail, it features a completely new set of characters and storyline.

Billed as a contemporary romantic comedy-drama, the film explores the evolving dynamics of love, friendship, and heartbreak among three young adults. The narrative follows their emotional journey as relationships shift from friendship to romance, leading to unexpected complications and conflicts.
