Prime Video is gearing up for the release of System, an upcoming original film that aims to explore themes of justice, morality and systemic power through an emotionally layered narrative. Headlined by Sonakshi Sinha, the film delves into how access to justice can often differ depending on one’s social position, while also focusing on the emotional conflicts faced by its characters.

Sonakshi Sinha says System raises important questions about access to justice

For Sonakshi Sinha, one of the biggest reasons for choosing the project was the complexity of the character she portrays. Speaking about her role and the film’s world, the actress shared, “What stayed with me the most was Neha as a character, she’s layered, she’s flawed, and she’s constantly evolving. And then the world of the film, it feels very real and relevant. The questions it raises about access to justice and how differently it can look depending on where you stand in society, and that’s what really pulled me in.”

Over the years, Sonakshi Sinha has gradually expanded her filmography beyond mainstream commercial entertainers, taking on roles with stronger emotional and psychological depth. Reflecting on her journey as an actor, she explained how her choices have evolved over time.

“I think it’s been a very organic journey. Dabangg was my introduction, Akira allowed me to explore a very physical and intense space, and System is far more internal and layered. Over time, I’ve been drawn to characters that challenge me in different ways, and right now I’m really enjoying exploring roles that have emotional depth and moral complexity,” she said.

Created and directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, the film is produced under the banner of Baweja Studios. Apart from Sonakshi Sinha, the project also stars Jyotika and Ashutosh Gowariker in key roles.

The film is expected to combine emotional storytelling with socially relevant themes, making it one of the notable digital releases of the month. System is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on May 22, 2026, across India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
