“Perhaps Winthrop was trying to stop something that can’t be stopped…” Evil Wants Out. 😱 And into your nearest movie theater! Aura Entertainment has unveiled the official trailer for a horror thriller movie titled Lockbox, formerly titled Winthrop, arriving to watch in limited US theaters starting in July this summer. This chilling new supernatural horror follows a woman and her strange cousin who might be possessed by something scary. What’s wrong with Winthrop? A woman puts everything on the line in her rural town to defend her enigmatic cousin from a dangerous otherworldly entity determined to track him down. Starring Carla Gugino, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Katharine Isabella. A better intro: “Lockbox captures the eerie dread that makes ‘Knifepoint Horror‘ such a success. Carla Gugino is a perfect fit for the film, bringing a rare intensity and subtlety that aligns perfectly with the silent horror of Lockbox. Beneath the supernatural tension, the film explores how generational trauma festers and twists over time. It’s horror with weight, and it stays with you…” This looks more like a direct-to-video horror than anything seriously meant for theaters.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Daniel Stamm’s horror film Lockbox, direct from YouTube:

Seeking peace after her mother’s death, Ellen retreats to a rural town, taking in her severely traumatized cousin Winthrop. Their fragile domestic balance shatters when an erratic neighbor warns that Winthrop is dangerous. As strange phenomena escalate, Ellen must put everything on the line to defend Winthrop from a dangerous otherworldly entity determined to track him down. Lockbox, also known as Winthrop, is directed by by the German genre filmmaker Daniel Stamm, director of the films A Necessary Death, The Last Exorcism, 13 Sins, “Intruders” series, and Prey for the Devil previously. The screenplay is written by Justin Yoffe; based on the Knifepoint Horror Podcast “The Lock Box” by Soren Narnia. Produced by Kearie Peak and Dark Castle Entertainment. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Aura Entertainment releases Stamm’s Lockbox in select US theaters starting July 3rd, 2026 this summer.
