Not so long ago, it seemed that Ted Lasso might be over for good, with the popular Apple TV+ series seemingly bowing out at the end of its third run in 2023.

But then came the news in March 2025 that Jason Sudeikis would actually be returning as the ever-optimistic football coach for another run – and there’s not long to go now until that fourth season is upon us.
This time around, Ted will be turning his attention to improving the fortunes of the AFC Richmond Women’s Team, with Sudeikis previously confirming that news in an episode of the New Heights podcast.
And of course he won’t be the only familiar face in this new run, with Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) and marketing pro Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) among the characters confirmed to play a key role in the season.
Waddingham recently teased that fans should be very excited about the new episodes, telling Radio Times during an exclusive interview that: “the writing just continues to excel like it always has, and we have our Lady Greyhounds!”
So, when will the fourth season of Ted Lasso land? And which new additions are there to the cast? Read on for everything you need to know about Ted Lasso season 4.
When will Ted Lasso season 4 be released?

It’s now been confirmed: Ted Lasso season 4 will debut on Apple TV on Wednesday 5 August 2026.
The ten episodes will then be released weekly – as with previous runs of the show – leading up to the season finale om 7 October.
The announcement was made in April 2026 and was accompanied by a brand-new image from the upcoming season, which you can see above.
What wikk Ted Lasso season 4 be about?
As mentioned above, the new season will see Ted return to AFC Richmond to coach the women’s team – who have been languishing below their potential.
The official synopsis reads: “Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team.
“Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would. “
In February, Hannah Waddingham told Deadline that the new season would be “a whole different deal” and that she “can’t wait for everyone to see what they’ve come up with.”
Ted Lasso cast: Who would be back for a season 4?

Jason Sudeikis is set to return as his beloved character as he turns his hand to coaching a women’s team in season 4.
Meanwhile, other former cast members confirmed to return are Rebecca Walton star Hannah Waddingham, Leslie Higgins star Jeremy Swift, Coach Beard star Brendan Hunt, Keeley Jones star Juno Temple and Roy Kent star Brett Goldstein.
Meanwhile, there are also several new faces in the cast – including Sex Education and The Other Bennet Sister star Tanya Reynolds as an assistant coach for the women’s team.
The other stars joining the ensemble include Jude Mack (Prime Target), Faye Marsay (Andor), Rex Hayes (The Pact), Aisling Sharkey (Jurassic World: Dominion), Abbie Hern (My Lady Jane) and Grant Feely (Obi-Wan Kenobi), the latter of whom is taking over the expanded role of Ted’s son, Henry.
With regards to the rest of the cast, Nick Mohammed has frequently expressed his desire to return as Nate, and has strongly hinted that he could be back despite it not yet being officially confirmed.
Speaking to Radio Times in January, he said: “It’s all speculative as to whether Nate will be back, but this is a show that’s focusing on the women’s football team. But yes, really exciting it’s back.”
We expect we’ll probably see him at some point during the season!
Ellie Taylor, who played Sassy in a recurring role across all three seasons, previously said she has “absolutely no idea” about the future of the series and whether she will be involved, but confirmed that she would “love to be”.
