Following the immense financial success of The Devil Wears Prada 2, many are wondering if there will be a third movie. Director David Frankel said he’s not ruling out the possibility of The Devil Wears Prada 3 becoming a reality.

What did David Frankel say about The Devil Wears Prada 3?
In an interview with Variety, Frankel remarked that a third film isn’t out of the question.
“Look, it took us 20 years to do this one. And I said, ‘Never again,’ and here we are,” said Frankel. “So, I certainly would never say, ‘Never again,’ again. Let’s see what happens. If there was an opportunity to revisit the characters and to share a few months with these wonderful actors again, obviously, I’d love it.”
The second film is set roughly 20 years after the 2006 classic, catching up with Miranda, Andy, and Emily at very different stages of their lives and careers. It wastes little time reuniting Anne Hathaway with Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt, and leaves the door open for the three to interact in a future sequel. Both films were directed by Frankel and reunited many crew members behind the camera, including screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, producer Wendy Finerman, cinematographer Florian Ballhaus, composer Theodore Shapiro, and production designer Jess Gonchor.
As for what story it could tell, author Lauren Weisberger has already published two other books in the series. The second book, called Revenge Wears Prada, follows Andy and Emily as business partners, while the third book, titled When Life Gives You Lululemons, is a spinoff following Emily.
Following the sequel’s success, fans have pondered if Disney will greenlight sequels to other classics in its catalog. While the film got middling reviews, it recently passed a major box office milestone, earning over $253 million worldwide at the time of writing on a budget of roughly $100 million.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is currently playing in theaters.
