History will be made when Australia and Egypt meet in the round of 32 at the Dallas Stadium on Friday evening.

Neither nation has won a knockout match at a World Cup and the prize for the victorious team is a place in the last 16 of this summer’s tournament.
Australia punched their ticket to the knockout stage by finishing second behind co-hosts the United States in Group D. The Socceroos accumulated four points thanks to a 2-0 victory over Turkey and goalless draw with Paraguay, who subsequently knocked out Germany earlier this week.
Mohamed Salah, meanwhile, was on target as Egypt secured their first-ever World Cup victory when beating New Zealand in Group G. A pair of draws in their other matches against Belgium and Iran also saw them progress as runners-up.
The winning team are likely to face a daunting test against Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the last-16 stage as the reigning world champions are expected to progress against minnows Cape Verde.
