World Cup co-hosts Canada return to Group B action against Qatar in Vancouver on Thursday evening.

Jesse Marsch’s side were expected to beat Bosnia & Herzegovina in their group opener; however, they played out a 1-1 draw, with Cyle Larin scoring late on for the hosts.
With all four sides on one point in Group B, Canada seem to be in a straight shootout with Switzerland for top spot. If they can get the better of Qatar, the battle for first place will likely rest on their final group game against the Swiss.

Canada are hoping to get out of the group for the first time in their history and given this summer’s expanded World Cup will see numerous third-placed teams qualify, Marsch will be confident of reaching the knockout stages.
Qatar stunned Switzerland in their group opener to snatch their first-ever World Cup point in a 1-1 draw. The historic moment went down as a Miro Muheim own goal after it was deemed Boualem Khoukhi’s header was going wide.
Despite confidence in Julen Lopetegui’s side being high, Qatar still face an uphill battle to get out of Group B. They’ll need to get a result against Canada and likely beat Bosnia & Herzegovina in their final group game.
