Celtic face Dunfermline in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park on Saturday as the newly-crowned Scottish Premiership champions look to lift the trophy for the 43rd time.
Martin O’Neill’s side won the title in dramatic fashion on the final day of the season last weekend with the Hoops beating Hearts 3-1 to end The Jam Tarts’ fairytale challenge.
Celtic have now won the Scottish Premiership in 14 of the last 15 seasons while lifting the trophy a record 56 times, one ahead of their arch rivals Rangers.
Celtic have also dominated the Scottish Cup. They’ve won it a record 42 times while reaching the final in seven of the last nine seasons, however, Dunfermline will be well aware that Aberdeen got the better of the Old Firm outfit on penalties in last year’s Hampden Park showpiece.
Dunfermline, who are managed by former Celtic boss Neil Lennon, finished fourth in the Scottish Championship this season before falling short in the play-offs and losing in the semi-finals against Partick Thistle.
Lennon will be desperate for his side to dust themselves down and go again as Dunfermline look to pull off a huge Scottish Cup upset.
