Ecuador will be looking to get their World Cup campaign back on track when they face minnows Curacao at the Kansas City Stadium in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The South American nation suffered a dramatic 1-0 defeat to Ivory Coast in their opening Group E game, despite hitting the woodwork twice in the first half. It looked like the match would end goalless before Amad Diallo hit the winner at the death for the Elephants.
It ended Ecuador’s 19-match unbeaten streak in ruthless fashion and head coach Sebastián Beccacece is now under pressure to secure three points against the smallest nation to ever qualify for a World Cup.
Curacao, who boast a population of just over 150,000, had fans dreaming of one of football’s greatest upsets in their opening match against Germany when Livano Comenencia cancelled out Felix Nmecha’s early goal. The Caribbean minnows were put to the sword, however, as the European giants struck six more times to run out 7-1 winners.
A second loss could be fatal for Ecuador and Curacao as the defeated team would likely be facing an early flight home from North America.
