Ivory Coast and Ecuador get their World Cup Group E campaign underway in the early hours of Monday morning.

Ivory Coast topped their qualifying group to secure a spot while avoiding defeat in their 10 outings (won eight, drawn two). They also scored 25 times in that period without conceding.
Emerse Fae’s side, who are in Group E alongside Germany, Ecuador and Curacao, are making their fourth World Cup appearance and they’re hoping to make it out of the group stages for the first time in their history.

Ecuador finished second in their qualifying group behind Argentina, with Sebastian Beccacece’s men going unbeaten in 16 of their 18 games. They also conceded just five times across qualifying and they’ll be hoping that impressive defensive record continues at this summer’s tournament.
Ecuador, who are 22nd in the FIFA rankings, look the most likely to finish second behind Germany in Group E with Ivory Coast potentially having to settle for third ahead of outsiders Curacao.
