Aston Villa begin their pre-season preparations on Tuesday night as Unai Emery’s side face off against League Two’s Walsall.

Villa, who won the Europa League last time out and finished fourth in the Premier League to secure Champions League football for this season, are hoping for another successful campaign.

This will be the fourth consecutive year that Emery has guided Villa to European football and the Spaniard will expect more of the same from his players this season.

Villa, who begin their campaign on 12 August against PSG in their UEFA Super Cup showdown, look set for a summer of change with numerous outgoings and a few incoming signings to freshen up the squad ahead of another season of juggling domestic and Champions League football.

Walsall, who beat Villa 1-0 when the sides met in pre-season last year, finished 13th in League Two last campaign and Lee Grant will be hoping to make a play-off push this time out.
