The Premier League season is into its final throes and there is no better way to keep up with the rollercoaster ride than Match of the Day.
2025/26 has brought one key change to your Saturday night routine: Gary Lineker is no longer the host of the iconic highlights show on the BBC. It was first announced back in November that the 2024/25 campaign would be his last in the role, but he made an early exit due to controversy surrounding a social media post shared by Lineker.
Gabby Logan, Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman have taken the reins on a rotational basis while Match of the Day 2 has been rebranded to simply Match of the Day but will remain on Sunday evenings.
In a shake-up from the norm, there will only be one episode of MOTD on this weekend due to the Premier League’s adjusted schedule.
There are no games on Sunday but Saturday’s edition will be action-packed and includes big games at both ends of the table, including Arsenal v Newcastle and Wolves v Spurs.

When is Match of the Day on?
The next episodes of Match of the Day will air on:
- Saturday 2 May at 10:25pm on BBC One.
- Sunday 3 May at 10:30pm on BBC One.
When is Match of the Day repeated?
Match of the Day is typically repeated on BBC One the following morning after it airs throughout the season.
It will be available on iPlayer shortly after midnight on the day it is broadcast.
