“You’re going to become heterosexual!” The Jokers distribution from France has debuted the first official trailer for the animated film titled Jim Queen, a super gay adventure around Paris. This is premiering at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in May playing in the festival’s Midnight screening section. This looks like so much bright & colorful & queer fun! The full title is Jim Queen and the Quest for Chloroqueer from directors Nicolas Athane and Marco Nguyen. A gay influencer’s life crumbles when a virus turns Paris’s gay men straight. He teams up with a twink to find a rumored cure in the Marais district. A satire on identity, fame, and queer culture. Everyone stops following Jim except Lucien, a closeted twink. Together, they must travel to every corner of the capital in search of a mysterious cure that can heal Jim, but above all, save the LGBTQIA+ community from extinction. With the voices of Alex Ramirès as Jim Parfait & Jérémy Gillet as Lucien, Shirley Souagnon, François Sagat, and Harald Marlot. Jim (voiced by Alex Ramirès), a sexy icon of the Parisian gay scene, sees his life turned upside down when he contracts Heterosis, a strange virus that transforms gay men… into heterosexuals! He finds himself abandoned by everyone except his last follower (and first admirer), Lucien, a young man struggling to accept himself. Together, they embark on a quest for a mysterious cure that can heal Jim and prevent the extinction of homosexuality… Jim Queen, also titled Jim Queen and the Quest for Chloroqueer / Jim Queen à la recherche de la Chloroqueer in French, is co-directed by the filmmakers Marco Nguyen (animator on Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, The Summit of the Gods) & Nicolas Athané (animator on The Red Turtle), both making their feature directorial debut with this project. The screenplay is written by Nicolas Athane, Simon Balteaux, Brice Chevillard, Marco Nguyen. Produced by Bobbypills Studio, with David Alric, Arthur Delabays.
