Emmerdale are to shine a light on the life-changing effects of prostate cancer once again, as Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) perceptions of manhood are challenged during son Kyle Winchester’s (Huey Quinn) cadets swearing in ceremony.
The youngster is desperate to rebuild his relationship with his father, but is saddened to see his chair empty during the event.
Later in the week, Cain discovers whether his radical prostatectomy operation has been successful.
Elsewhere, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) hides the truth surrounding her sexual assault, Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) is suspicious of Kerry Pollard (Laura Norton) and son Archie Breckle (Kai Assi), and Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) faces a perilous situation.

1. Jai Sharma confronts Kerry Pollard and Archie Breckle about their scam
Kerry and Archie decide to have another go at conning Caleb Miligan (William Ash) using their fake ‘AI Steph’ setup, but their latest attempt quickly unravels when Pollard (Chris Chittell) catches them red-handed. Furious at what he’s discovered, he confronts the pair, leaving Kerry consumed with guilt.
Caleb finally realises he has been duped out of the £5,000 he previously sent to the woman he believed was Steph. Humiliated by how easily he fell for the deception, he becomes determined to find the culprit.
When Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) points out that the scammer somehow knew a highly personal detail involving Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and Ross Barton (Michael Parr), Caleb becomes convinced the fraudster must be closer to home than he first thought. Vowing revenge, he decides to involve the police.
Desperate to avoid that outcome, Kerry attempts to persuade Pollard not to report the scam, reminding him of his own colourful history and urging him to let the matter drop. He agrees to keep quiet for now, but only after ordering Archie to wipe every trace of evidence from the laptop.
The following day, Ruby’s attention is caught by Kerry’s counterfeit handbag, prompting concern that she may be starting to connect the dots.
Elsewhere, Caleb channels his frustration into a new venture. Determined to reclaim his old ruthless streak, he reveals plans to launch a counterfeit goods operation and suggests the depot would make the perfect base.
Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) is taken aback when his boss offers him a percentage of the profits. Although initially reluctant, he finds himself tempted by the prospect. Caleb soon ramps up the pressure, convincing him to carry out a collection for the operation in exchange for an eight per cent cut.
With the illegal side hustle now underway, Caleb warns Billy to keep Jai completely in the dark, clearly relishing his return to criminal territory.
However, when Caleb later tells Jai that Ruby suspects the culprit is somebody they know, he becomes increasingly uneasy after hearing Archie’s name repeatedly linked to the case.
Determined to get answers, Jai confronts Kerry directly and accuses both her and Archie of being involved.
2. Charity Dingle blames her stress on postnatal depression
Concerned for Charity’s wellbeing, Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) checks in on her and tries to get to the bottom of what’s troubling her.
Unable to reveal the truth about being sexually assaulted by Dr Todd (Caroline Harker), she claims she is suffering from postnatal depression. Taking her at her word, Manpreet prescribes medication and leaves her trapped in an increasingly isolating lie.
Things become even more complicated when husband Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) returns home. Charity is upset to learn he has spoken to Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) about her struggles, and once alone, she turns to sleeping pills and wine in an attempt to numb her emotions.
The next day, Sarah is overwhelmed with guilt. Believing that her role as Charity’s surrogate has caused her grandmother’s supposed postnatal depression, she becomes desperate to understand exactly what is happening.
When Charity hints there is more to the story, Sarah hopes she may finally hear the truth. But Charity can’t bring herself to open up and instead blames her emotional state on exhaustion and postnatal depression.
Later, a devastated Sarah breaks down in front of Mack, convinced that the surrogacy is responsible for all of Charity’s pain.
3. Cain Dingle receives some devastating news about his cancer diagnosis
Cain’s week begins on a heartwarming note when he tells Kyle how proud he is of him. The teenager is thrilled when his dad promises to attend his cadet swearing-in ceremony, and eagerly looks forward to sharing the milestone together.
However, as the ceremony gets underway, Kyle’s excitement turns to disappointment when he glances across the village and sees Cain’s seat sitting empty.
After suffering an accident, he’s rushed into The Woolpack toilets and hides in a cubicle, mortified by the wet patch on his trousers.

Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) soon discovers what has happened and quietly returns with a clean pair of trousers, slipping them under the cubicle door. Though deeply embarrassed, Cain finally accepts the help.
Still struggling with the humiliation of his incontinence, Cain receives reassurance from both Charles and Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw), who promise discretion and encourage him not to let the incident define him. Summoning his courage, he heads back to the ceremony and apologises to Kyle for missing the swearing-in.
Thankfully, Kyle is simply relieved to see his father and assures him there is nothing to be embarrassed about.
Later, Cain opens up to wife Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) about his growing fears. Worried that his health problems are making him feel “less of a man”, he admits he is struggling to cope. Moira passionately reminds him that facing adversity takes strength and refuses to let him lose sight of that.
The following day, at the hospital, the consultant delivers difficult news. While Cain’s radical prostatectomy was successful, further tests strongly suggest that the cancer may have spread slightly.
The revelation leaves both Cain and Moira devastated. The situation worsens when he learns he will need additional treatment, but must wait several months before it can begin while his body recovers from surgery.
There’s also a realistic possibility that radiotherapy could make some of his current side effects permanent. Determined to shield their sons from further worry, Cain and Moira agree to keep the news to themselves.
4. Lewis Barton is hauled into the back of a van by masked men
Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) surprises Lewis with an impulsive holiday to Madeira, hoping the spontaneous getaway will do them both good.
At first, Lewis tries to embrace the idea, but his anxiety soon takes over. Overwhelmed by the suddenness of the trip, he ultimately decides he can’t go through with it.
Although Lewis insists Vinny should still take the holiday, he is left with mixed emotions as he heads off without him. A timely conversation with Ross soon changes everything. Encouraged to take a chance rather than let fear win, he realises he doesn’t want to miss out after all.
Determined to put things right, he grabs his suitcase and rushes off in pursuit of Vinny, hoping to catch him before the flight departs.
But as Lewis hurries outside to meet his taxi, events take a dramatic turn when a van suddenly screeches to a halt nearby, and pictures show him being dragged into the vehicle.
