“It’s a birth. The birth of a new humanity.” Time for more! After the first teaser last week, Well Go USA has dropped another new official trailer for the Korean zombie horror movie Colony coming out this year. It’s announced for a 2026 Cannes Film Festival Midnight premiere in May then it will hit US theaters at the end of August later this summer. Directed by the same K-zombie mastermind behind the movies Seoul Station, Train to Busan, Peninsula, and many others recently. Yeon Sang-ho returns to his zombie roots for Colony, about a virus that infects people so they quarantine the entire facility. It follows survivors trapped inside a Korean high-rise during a zombie outbreak. At a biotech conference, a rapidly mutating virus is unleashed. As the outbreak spreads and the infected begin to transform, they seal off the building. Starring Gianna Jun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rock, Go Soo. The real “colony” aspect of this is finally revealed – it’s some sort of “mutant zombie monster” creation hivemind linked by all this gooey white stuff. At first glance it seems Yeon Sang-ho might be totally reinventing zombies yet again.
Here’s the second international trailer for Yeon Sang-ho’s zombie movie Colony, direct from YouTube:

You can rewatch the initial teaser trailer for Yeon Sang-ho’s Colony movie right here for that first look.
A biotechnology professor, Se-jeong (Jun Ji-hyun), is attending a biotech conference that erupts into chaos with the release of a rapidly mutating virus. The outbreak results in the transformation of infected people, prompting authorities to seal off the facility and trap survivors inside with an escalating threat. Colony, also known as 군체, is directed by prolific Korean genre filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho, known for sparking the global K-zombie frenzy with the set of movies The King of Pigs, The Fake, Seoul Station, Train to Busan, Psychokinesis, Peninsula, continuing on with the films JUNG_E, Hellbound, The Bequeathed, Revelations, The Ugly, plus the series “Parasyte: The Grey“. The screenplay is written by Yeon Sang-ho & Choi Gyu-seok. Produced by Yoomin Hailey Yang. This premieres at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in May in the Midnight section. It also hit theaters in June 2026 in some countries. Well Go USA will debut Yeon Sang-ho’s Colony movie in US theaters starting on August 28th, 2026 late at the end of the summer. Who’s excited for this?
