The BBC has confirmed a “major expansion” of its Wimbledon coverage for 2026 – and signed a new deal to keep the tennis Grand Slam on free-to-air TV in the UK until 2033.
The grass court major at the All England Club begins on Monday 29 June, running until the final of the men’s singles on Sunday 12 July, and the broadcaster has promised this year’s coverage will “be the most comprehensive in BBC history”.
That includes a flurry of fresh faces and voices, new technologies and unprecedented access, as well as more ways to tune in than ever before – with every match from all 18 courts broadcast live.
Andre Agassi, Jamie Murray, Genie Bouchard and Laura Robson have been added to the BBC’s cast of familiar Wimbledon favourites, which is led on TV by Clare Balding, Isa Guha, John McEnroe, Martina Navratilova, Tim Henman and Annabel Croft.
After more than 20 years on the mic, 2026 will be Andrew Castle’s last year commentating on the tournament for the BBC.
For those who prefer to listen to the on-court action, Gigi Salmon, Clare McDonnell and Russell Fuller head the expert-filled team that will provide extensive coverage of Wimbledon across BBC Radio and BBC Sounds.
The BBC has expanded its coverage, as well as its broadcast line-up, with every match from every court available live on BBC iPlayer, Centre Court coverage in UHD, a dedicated Wimbledon Extra stream on iPlayer and online, more analysis and insight than ever before, on-demand match highlights, and exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes content.
One year out from the 100th anniversary of Wimbledon on the BBC, a new deal has been agreed that will see the public broadcaster remain the home of the Championships until 2033, which will keep tennis’s most prestigious tournament on free-to-air TV and radio.
