“Sometimes bad people are the absolutely most fun.” In a fantasy movie, maybe? MGM & Sony debuted another series of making of featurettes for the Masters of the Universe movie, an 80s throwback come to life on the big screen. This time the focus is on the villains, the hordes of bad guys in this movie. MOTU is a toy franchise that was turned into an 80s animated TV show and 80s movie with Dolph Lundgren. This updated reboot of Masters of the Universe brings the legendary franchise back again. After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor. To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela & Man-At-Arms, and embrace his true destiny as He-Man. This stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and Adam Glenn, Camila Mendes, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Charlotte Riley, Kristen Wiig as Roboto, Jared Leto as Skeletor, and Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms. Finally in this promo we get a look at Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, plus other bad guys including Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Goat Man, Sam C. Wilson as Kronis / Trap Jaw, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, James Wilkinson as Mekaneck. Gotta say – this does look mighty fun! Will be a good time at the movies.

Ten-year-old Adam Glenn (Nicholas Galitzine) crash-lands on his mother’s home planet Earth, separating him from his ancestor’s Power Sword of Grayskull. Two decades later, he takes his sword back and bears the mantle of He-Man as he battles for his home planet, Eternia, fighting against the evil forces of Skeletor (Jared Leto) – and will embrace his true destiny. Masters of the Universe is directed by American producer / filmmaker Travis Knight, director of the movies Kubo and the Two Strings and Bumblebee previously, who is also the CEO of Laika Animation Studios (and director of the upcoming Wildwood). The screenplay is written by Chris Butler and Aaron Nee & Adam Nee & Dave Callaham. Adapted from the Masters of the Universe franchise created by Mattel. Produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, Steve Tisch, DeVon Franklin. Amazon MGM Studios will debut Knight’s Masters of the Universe movie in theaters worldwide starting June 5th, 2026 coming up in the middle of the summer. So far so good? Look like fun?
